The client approached me with a vision that transcended the typical premium coffee shop. In a market filled with generic cafés, they aimed to establish a destination — not merely a storefront but a stage. A venue where stars, influencers, and fans could come together, blending the experience of coffee with the vibrant celebrity culture.
My challenge was clear: How do I craft an identity for Vedette Café that feels as iconic as the people it serves?
The word "Vedette" — French for star, headliner, the main attraction — became my north star (pun intended). It embodied the glamour, exclusivity, and allure that the client envisioned, much like the essence of celebrity culture.
From there, my strategy became simple but powerful:
Don't sell coffee. Sell the spotlight.
Vedette Café isn't just a premium coffee shop — it's a stage. Every customer who walks in isn't merely ordering a drink; they're stepping into a scene. The lighting, the space, the menu, the photography, the social media presence — I engineered all of it to make the guest feel seen, celebrated, and worthy of being followed.

The mark I designed for Vedette Café is deceptively simple, yet strategically loaded with meaning: I built the Vedette logo from the letter "V" — forming one of the five points of a star. This single design decision unlocked multiple layers of storytelling: The "V" anchors the brand name instantly — recognizable, ownable, memorable. The star point communicates celebrity culture, excellence, and aspiration without a single word. The incomplete star invites the viewer in — you complete it. You are the missing point. You are the star. Minimalist geometry ensures my logo works across every application — from a latte cup in the premium coffee shop to rooftop signage, from an Instagram avatar to a neon sign. It's a logo that doesn't shout. It glows.
I crafted a visual identity for Vedette Café designed to feel cinematic, premium, and social-ready, perfectly aligned with today’s celebrity culture: A bold, confident typographic system — because a star deserves a name in lights. A refined monochrome palette with selective accents — timeless, elegant, and Instagram-worthy for our premium coffee shop. Photography-led content — I designed every angle of the café as a potential photo op, turning every customer into a content creator, and every post into free marketing. Consistent iconography derived from the star motif — I extended the brand across menus, packaging, uniforms, and digital touch-points. I built the system not just to look good — but to be shared.

I positioned Vedette Café at the intersection of three cultural forces that define modern KSA: the rise of celebrity culture — where every meal, drink, and outing becomes content; the demand for premium coffee shop experiences — where establishments have transformed into social venues, not just caffeine stops; and a new generation seeking places that reflect their aspirations — stylish, elevated, and shareable. Vedette Café speaks directly to all three. It provides influencers a captivating backdrop, gives fans a place to spot their idols, and offers everyday guests a taste of the limelight — even if just for a cappuccino.
Vedette Café stands as a testament to the idea that in today's marketplace, a brand is not merely defined by what you sell, but by how you make people feel when they walk in, share their experiences on social media, and discuss it with friends. In a world influenced by celebrity culture, I didn't just design a logo for this premium coffee shop; I created a spotlight. Every guest who steps into Vedette? They've been Berned. ⭐
